Seed Thought:

Today is one of the four cardinal points of the year, Summer Solstice, the day of greatest
light. The Medicine wheel has completed its spring turning and is fully open to the southern gate, the gate of summer. Summer is the season for appreciating the abundance of life, the reality of both the physical light and the spiritual light, and of recognizing the unique gifts we have to share with the world. The archangel Gabriel, a Hebrew name, meaning the “strength of God”, is the guardian of summer and the protector of all living things.

Prayer/ Practice:

Go outside and sit down on Mother Earth.  Feel the light of the sun shining down on you. You can do this regardless of whether or not the clouds or a roof may partially obscure the light. Welcome the light with a prayer like “Great spirit , I give thanks for the light of the sun which provides life and I give thanks for the increase in the life force that I feel within me now , increasing my energy and vitality, I feel myself awakening to the light within , gaining the will and wisdom to be of service.” As you breathe in, feel the light entering the top of your head and as you breathe out, pass it into the earth.

Also you can open your arms up to Father Sun and then reach down to touch Mother earth and bring that energy up to meet at your heart center and pause for a moment or two and feel the energy from father sun and the energy from Mother earth meeting and surrounding you with life force —
Then from there, open out your arms and to send energy out to all our relations—the two leggeds, and the four leggeds, the fish that swim and the birds that fly. Bless all our relations.

May there be peace on earth.
May the hearts of all people be open to themselves and to each other.
May all people awaken to the light of their own true nature,
May all of creation be blessed and be a Blessing to all that is.
