Grass Valley, California

Submitted by: Marilyn Nyborg

In Grass Valley California in the Sierra Foothills we had over 250 women attending our gathering. Proceeded by 6 days of introspection and focus on the suggested activities. On the 6th day we gathered in Nevada City (our sister city) and walked 5 blocks in silence in a candlelight vigil. The size of our gathering was significant given that we are two small towns.

The entire 4 hours was broadcast live on KVMR radio allowing us to touch many more in our community. It included musicians, dancers, inspirational speakers from age 10-86 years old! Local community organizations were represented at our action tables.

The program was hosted by Joan Buffington, Marilyn Nyborg and Judith Hurley Prosser.
