Gather the Women: Building the Field

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." Rumi Your Northwest sisters are excited to present our Gather the Women Congress in new “clothing”. We are all members of a global village and yet we may never see each other’s face or hold one another's hand. Where could we look to transcend the limits of time and space? Energy, air, voice. Voice!

The Northwest planners looked to modern technology to create a space of inclusion beyond space and time, a space that enlarges the circles of women through voice. Holding hands with www.sisterspace.net, an online radio site for women, we have created a congress that will flow beyond boundaries.

The Gather the Women On-Line Congress

Our conference will open November 11, 2005 on 11:00 am P. T. You simply sit down at your computer any time after that and enter: http://www.sisterspace.net/congress.html into the address bar. Click, and there will be our congress site.

Program

Sharon Riegie Maynard will set our focus. It is a female right and responsibility to be the designer of space as signified by our wombs.

We have woven women into a program that will inform, inspire, encourage and delight you. You will hear conversations with Danica Anderson who has worked with our sisters in Bosnia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, and India as they first struggled to tell their stories of rape and trauma and Karambu Ringer who stood as witness to the women in Africa who have stepped up to create innovative solutions to the great needs they are facing. Leslene de , Stephanie Hiller and Kristen have incredible information to share as a result of their conversations and work with women in other parts of our world and you can tune into the financial wisdom of Suzanne Kincaid.

Meditations and guided visualizations will be available whenever you need to return to your spiritual home and the music of Kayla Wentworth and Teresa Bain will move you to tears, laughter and action.

In addition to the wisdom shared by our presenters, we will have a virtual healing circle that has a space for you, and conversation circles for questions and your feedback. We will set up our space with a Medicine Wheel process and closing our time with a release ritual for surrendering our fears and desires to Greater Beneveloent Intelligence with music woven throughout the Congress.

We need your participation!

There will be opportunities to participate. You can write your comments in a blog format as well as record comments via your phone to be hear by other participants during the time of the Congress.

You will hear women like you. What they have done, you are doing. What you are doing, they want to know. We all desire hope, dignity, safety and a life with all aspects of peace and love for your children and children.

You will need speakers on your computer and may need to download an audio program. The download will be available on the Congress site. After that, it is click on buttons, listen, and then go to another segment. We learn best by doing.
