Town Hall Meetings
In Grass Valley, 2005-2006, two Town Hall meetings were sponsored by Gather the Women on a subject of general concern to the community, methamphetamine addiction. GTW convenors "were highly appreciated for the way the evenings were set up and structured: IN CIRCLE for one, with bouquets of flowers, being greeted at the door. They opened with the message: we are a spiritually-based global network of women, activating the power and wisdom of all women. To inspire and encourage women to speak from that place we all share: our innate instincts to mother, to nurture life and bring healing to the world.
And what we are not: we are NOT about confronting the issue of meth.
We are about bringing women together to have a conversation about issues that face us all, and meth is one of those screaming for attention!! Our goal is to bring women of differing backgrounds together to find ways of collaborating and creating positive responses to these issues." [Marilyn Nyborg]
