How balanced is your life? Are you feeling unspoken and unmet needs? My friend Darcy and I explored this in a GTW circle gathering several years ago. We used “The Wheel of LIfe” (attached) to help the women visualize their level of satisfaction in ten different categories. Each category has three lines for filling in the actions we could take to “increase your level of satisfaction”.
Once you’ve connected the dots (literally), the results can be surprising. That’s when you go to the ten sections and fill in the blanks with the actions you intend to take to summon more equilibrium into your life.
My own life has been kind of a mess the past three years with the pain I am experiencing in my rib cage and implacable insomnia. Steroid injections helped once, but the second time there was no change. I’ve got a counter full of bottles of “sleep aides” that don’t work any more. Even after three years of this, I’m experiencing “social grief” for all the GTW calls, the local events, and the coffee dates with friends that I’ve had to cancel.
You could say my wheel of life has a flat tire for now.
On the other hand, my challenges are microscopic compared to what is going on in the world right now. What if we changed the categories on the Wheel of Life to Peace, Love, Security, Wise Leadership, Cooperation, Compassion, and Empathy?
The latter two are not exactly the same. Compassion is when you have the desire to help. Empathy is the ability to take the perspective of and feel the emotions of another person. The women who were at the annual GTW gathering in Florida had the privilege of meeting Patricia Queritet. Patricia lives in Antwerp, Belgium. Today, March 24th, two days after the attack in Brussels, Patricia posted “The Invitation”, a poem by Oriah Mountain Dreamer (skdesigns.com).
That is the Divine Feminine.
